Voke Lofts, Worcester, MA

Built in 1909, the historic Worcester Boy’s Trade School was transformed into 84 loft units in 2015 by the WinnCompanies. The Classical Revival style building earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, and was constructed in part with aid of federal and state Historic Tax Credits, which required the expert installation of 312 historic replica windows. The project has earned multiple historic preservation awards, including the 2015 J. Timothy Anderson Award for Excellence in Historic Rehabilitation (National Housing & Rehabilitation Association); the 2015 Affordable Housing Vanguard Award (National Affordable Housing Management Association); and the 2015 MHN Excellence Award – Best Development/Adaptive Reuse (Multi-Housing News Magazine).
