Linwood Mills, Northbridge, MA

Built in 1866, the former Linwood Cotton Mill was converted into 75 units of 55+ senior housing as well as retail and commercial space by EA Fish Development in 2012. The mill was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, and Thermo Expert installed 410 historic replica windows to meet the exacting standards of the National Park Service. The project earned multiple historic preservation awards, including the 2012 Paul E. Tsongas Historic Preservation Award (Preservation Massachusetts); the 2013 Preservation Award, Adaptive Reuse, Rehabilitation & Restoration (Massachusetts Historical Commission); and the 2014 J. Timothy Anderson Award for Excellence in Historic Rehabilitation (National Housing & Rehabilitation Association).
