U.S. Army Base Big Gun Shop, Arsenal, Watervliet NY

Thermo Expert worked closely with officials from the Watervliet Arsenal, the oldest continuously active arsenal in the United States, and the New York State Historical Preservation Office, to install blast resistant windows at the U.S. Army Base Big Gun Shop. Constructed in 1889, the nearly 1,300 foot long shop was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1966. Using special lifts and scaffolding, the 300-pound explosion-resistant window sections were installed to provide maximum protection for the building while complying with historic preservation guidelines.
